The Marine Big 5 | Travel & Tourism

Water covers the majority of our planet and yet about 95% of our oceans are unexplored – we know more about the cosmos than we do about the deep sea.

When the icy cold, nutrient-rich water from the depths of the Atlantic Ocean is upwelled into the Benguela current and converges with eddies from the warm Indian Ocean water of the Agulhas current, magic follows.

At the southern tip of Africa, this phenomenon brings with it an unparalleled diversity of marine life from the single cell algae to the largest predatory fish in the sea.

We made this film for Grootbos Private Nature Reserve.
